Extraction Case: Adolescent Boy 13 years old: CLI Bi-maxillary Dento-alveolar protrusion with lip incompetence. Treatment is extraction of 4 premolars and reciprocal “en masse” space closure using 200 gram NiTi closed-coil springs to reduce the bi-maxilla

6th month – the four 1st premolars were extracted and the leveling is completed.

Reciprocal space closure – Use of 200 gram NiTi closed-coil springs to retract the anterior segments “en masse” and to protract the posterior segments.

8th month – Continue reciprocal space closure – the same 200 gram NiTi closed-coil springs to retract the anterior segments “en masse” and to protract the posterior segments. The spaces have closed about 3mm.

10th month – Spaces closed

Final – After finishing and settling-in. Fixed lingual wires and removable retainers are placed.
