NEW Level II, 2 year program with 4 separate 2-day sessions 

Location:  Warszawa, Poland 

Session 1: March 9 & 10, 2019

Session 4: Dates to be announced for 2020 

This 2 year course continues in the same course rotation every 2 years.

The contents of the sessions can be modified to include other orthodontic subjects. 

Location: NEW: all courses will be held in Warszawa.

Times for all courses: Lecture 9:00 to 16:00 (includes lunch and a coffee break).  Questions: 16:00 to 17:30 (participants can ask about one of their personal cases).

Session 1   March 9 & 10, 2019  Warswawa 

Day 1 and 2:

CLI and CLII Treatment for Young Patients and Adults

There will be a workshop on mini-screw placement.

Lecture:

Diagnostic analysis, treatment planning and mechanical treatment planning of different types of CLI and CLII orthodontic patients with the goal of beautiful orthodontic and esthetic results. 

Clinical case presentations:

Young patients:

Mixed dentition and adolescent ages, CLI and CLII 

Deep bite and open-bite cases will be examined.

There is often a misunderstanding about when it is best to use the HA NiTi Transpalatal Expander/Rotator. There will be detailed explanations of this with texts and clinical cases demonstrating when these appliances are best used and when they are not necessary.

Bracketing techniques/schemes used for deep and open bite cases.

There will ba an over-view of the use of: 

NiTi CLII Corrector

HA NiTi Transpalatal Expander/Molar Rotator

Molar distalizers and Head Gear

Intrusion wires

Lip bumper

Mini-screws

The clinical cases presented will demonstrate the time-tested, systematic, logical and time saving approach to patient treatment using Dr. Brown’s system of SWA orthodontics.

Adult patients:

The theme will be to demonstrate “what are the limits for a treatment non-extraction, non-surgical”?

Use of the HA NiTi transpalatal Expander/Molar Rotator in adult treatments.

Workshop, video and lecture:

Mini-screw placement: the participants will place a mini-screw on a typodont.

Day 1 and 2

CLIII Treatments for Young Patients and Adults

There will be a workshop on the adjusting of the 19x25 steel wire.

Lecture:

Diagnostic analysis, treatment planning and mechanical treatment planning of different types of CLIII orthodontic patients with the goal of beautiful orthodontic and esthetic results. 

Clinical case presentations by Dr. Brown:

Young patients: Mixed dentition and adolescent ages with CLIII malocclusions.

Treatment of CLIII skeletal and dental malocclusions.

There is often a misunderstanding by doctors about when it is best to use the HA NiTi Transpalatal Expander/Molar Rotator. There will be detailed explanations of CLIII clinical cases demonstrating when these appliances are best used and when they are not necessary. 

CLIII treatment for Adults

There are always diagnostic questions as to: what are the limits for a treatment non-extraction, non-surgical?

Use of the HA NiTi transpalatal Expander/Molar Rotator in adult CLIII treatments.

Workshop demonstration and review: the participants will adjust the 19x25 steel “working wire”: the accentuated curve; additional crown torque (labial and lingual).

Adult orthodontic treatments, extraction and non-extraction, Part I 

Day 1   

Lecture:

Treatment Tips for problem solving and finishing cases

Some examples of Treatment Tips to be covered:

Open Bite and Closed Bite treatments

Cross bite correction

Gummy smile treatments

Mid-line corrections

Elastic forces

Step-bends

Tooth size discrepancies

Slicing

Bracketing techniques

Final Space closure

Fibrotomy

Retention 

Day 2

Lecture:

Treatment therapy for Temporo-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD).

TMD Therapy for patients who wish to have orthodontic treatment.

How to make a clinical “Differential Diagnosis of TMD”

Splint/Orthotic therapy: Dr. Brown will discuss splint therapy that he has used successfully for 30 years.

Orthodontic treatment combined with Orthotics/Splint Therapy –  how to “manage” these delicate cases.

Prognosis and long term management. 

Surgical interventions: arthroscopy, arthroplasty, total joint replacement and others.

Physio-therapy and acupressure applications that can be done in the dental office.

Non-extraction and extraction cases

Orthodontic preparation of the patient for prosthetics

Using mini-screws.

Rapid Orthodontics: an overview of so called “Rapid Orthodontics”

Use of Corticotomy

So called6 month orthodontics” 

Day 2

Cephalometrics and diagnoses. 

Cleft lip and cleft palate considerations in orthodontics   

Maxilo-facial surgery combined with orthodontics. 

Sleep Apnea

Review of workshops 

Lecture:

Cephalometrics and diagnoses

The basics of the cephalometric tracing and the Analysis used by Dr. Brown

Using the cephalometric analysis in the diagnosis and mechanical treatment planning process:

To extract or not to extract? That is the question:

Determining if a treatment is surgical or non-surgical: camouflage extraction treatments or maxilo-facial surgical treatments combined with orthodontics.

Examination of Maxilo-facial surgery combined with orthodontics. 

Cleft lip and cleft palate: orthodontic and surgical treatment considerations

Cleft Patient treatment planning

Sequence of orthodontic/orthopedic and surgical treatment for cleft Patients.

Discussion on sleep Apnea and snoring problems: Discussion of the etiology and various solutions.
